Skyway has formalized a sponsorship agreement with professional golfer John Pak that will see the firm’s logo featured on Pak’s golf bag for three years alongside global brands TaylorMade Golf and Nike.
Pak, 23, and Skyway Senior Managing Director Roger Overby recently connected when Pak participated in the Skyway Capital Markets Club Car Championship Pro-Am in Savannah, Georgia earlier this spring. Overby remarked, “We’ve been looking for a while now for an opportunity to support a young athlete, and golf is a sport that is important to us and adds a lot of value to our business. In meeting and playing with John, I could see right away that he would make a great partner – he holds so many qualities that are important to us and our client partners: integrity, sportsmanship, loyalty and drive. We’re really excited to be a part of his professional journey.”
Pak joined the PGA TOUR’s developmental Korn Ferry Tour last fall after graduating from Florida State University and enjoying a stellar amateur career. He represented the United States in the Walker Cup in 2019 and 2021 and the Palmer Cup team in 2020. He led the PGA TOUR University Rankings from start to finish and capped off an incredible 2021 campaign by winning the Jack Nicklaus Award for national college player of the year, the Ben Hogan award for top collegiate golfer including amateur and professional events, as well as the 2021 Fred Haskins Award for the outstanding collegiate golfer as voted by players, coaches and media.
